What type of coffee do Azerbaijani customers purchase?

We have studied the Retail Audit data of coffee sales in 3 cities in Azerbaijan: Baku, Ganja, and Sumgait according to 2020.

Coffee mixes are dominating the coffee market, having a market share of 70% Ground coffee for machines, on the other hand, is the least popular type of coffee, with a market share of only 1%. 

Nestle is one of the largest players in the coffee market, holding 31% of the coffee market. The brand is the largest manufacturer in the pure soluble market and the second largest manufacturer in the mixes market, coming after Food Empire Holdings Ltd.

Coffee mixes are the most popular category of coffee, holding 70% of the market in 2020. They are followed by freeze-dried and spray-dried categories of coffee, holding 13% and 10% of the market respectively. Ground coffee for machines is the least popular type of coffee, having a market share of only 1%.

Nestle once again is the dominant manufacturer on the market, having a market share of 45%. Jacobs Douwe Egberts and Food Empire Holdings Ltd come next, with market shares of 30% and 13% respectively. BetaTea and Strauss hold the 7% and 3% of the market, while the share of other companies is about 2%.

Nescafe Classic is the most popular brand on the market, followed by Jacobs and Nescafe Gold. These brands hold 27%, 26%, and 17% of the market respectively. Maccoffee, Beta Caffito and Carte Noir are the next largest brands on the market, with respective market shares of 13%, 7% and 5%.

The mixes market is dominated by Food Empire Holdings Ltd (37%), followed by Nestle (28%) and Jacobs Douwe Egberts (12%). BetaTea is the smallest manufacturer in the mixes market, with around 1% of the market share. The rest of the market is held by other smaller manufacturers.

Mixes market by brands is dominated by Maccofee and Nescafe, holding 37% and 28% of the market respectively. The next relatively big brands are Jacobs, Tora Bika, and Golden Eagle, with respective market shares of 12%, 10%, and 5%. Good Day holds the 1% of the market while other smaller manufacturers account for remaining 6% of the mixes market.
